Below are decriptions of teams and roles available for serving at Sola Church.

Greet: From street to seat


Sign Manager - A willing heart and an early riser is all that’s required for this job. The sign manager will distribute the perimeter signs around the campus for guests in cars, leading them to parking as well as the walking path signs for pedestrians leading them to the front door. Signs should be in place 60 minutes prior to service and removed no later than 90 minutes after service and adhere to placement described in the layout map.

Door Greeter - A smiling, friendly face is all that’s required to do this job well. You will provide a visitor or regular attender with a great start to their Sola experience. You will need to stand outside of Mobius Hall (inside during in climate weather) and welcome foot traffic into Sola Church. A handout may also be provided for distribution as guests are welcomed. On rainy days, this job will require running umbrellas back to the parking attendant for distribution to guests and attenders walking between the parking garage and front door.

Parking Attendant - A smiling, friendly face is all that’s
required to do this job well. Like the door greeter, this job provides a visitor or a regular with a great start to their Sola experience. Finding parking anywhere can be tough and its nice to see a bright smiling face waving people into the parking lot. Additionally, this role will provide opened umbrellas to guests and attenders to use when walking between the parking garage and the front door.

Greet Host - A conversational personality and a desire to create and build relationships make this job one of the most important. Prior to service, the host is responsible for creating and continuing
conversation with new guests and returning guests as they arrive. Providing a connection and a cursory tour of the facility, the host will seat the guests prior to service and retrieve their names to pass on to pastoral staff. If possible, the host will also sit with the guests to make them feel at home. After service, the host should provide another touch point with guests as well as remaining in close proximity to the preaching pastor to allow for introduction and connection with new guests or followup for those who might have additional “high touch” needs. At the end of each Sunday, the host should provide names of all guests he/she interacted with and any notes needed to ease pastoral follow up.

Experience Tables & Connections - A helpful spirit, get it done attitude and a bit of technology whispering are the requirements for this job. You will provide guidance to those mingling and interacting with the experience tables and assist in any way necessary to allow guests and attenders to act upon an experience or connect with Sola staff, future events or actions. You will need to understand the basic four elements of the experience tables and their associated verbs: Give, Serve, Love and Pray. Additionally, you may need to help guests or attenders submit a group request or connect them to a pastor or staff member by emailing info@solabothell.com. An iPad is provided with bookmarks to the various links and locations.



Back Stage: Behind the scenes



Audio Tech - Training and experience with digital sound boards and audio equipment is required for this position. The audio technician will setup and maintain all sound levels and outputs for the entirety of the service. This includes live and recorded music, vocal and instrument microphones and video outputs. Specific training is required for adjusting and maintaining the sound equipment for Mobius hall, thus a training period and role is required for participating in this position.

Visual Tech - Training and experience with presentation software (Pro Presenter) and lighting/ video/sound equipment is required for this position. The visual technician will setup and maintain all lighting and video levels and outputs for the entirety of the service. This includes live and recorded video and feeds. Specific training is required for adjusting and maintaining the visual equipment for Mobius hall, thus a training period and role is required for participating in this position.


Setup & Teardown: Muscle & hustle



Misc Setup Helper - A jack of all trades is needed here to unload crates, assemble various stations/ spaces and provide a helping
hand wherever needed. Minimal guest/attender interaction is required. Minimal experience is required.

Misc Teardown Helper - Similar to setup helper, A jack of all trades is needed here to load crates, disassemble various stations/spaces and provide a helping hand wherever needed. An eye for cleanup is necessary as we aim to leave the facility in better condition then when we arrived. Carpet sweeping and trash pickup may be required. Minimal guest/attender interaction is required. Minimal experience is required.



Kids: Birth to 5th grade



Kids Checkin Station Helper - A smiling, empathetic face is all that’s necessary here to lower the barrier to checkin for parents on their way to service. There are four goals for this role: 1. Explain the checkin process, its benefits and its requirements and bear the technology burden for the guest/ attender to expedite the process 2. Answer or provide positive handoff for any questions about kids programs, kids safety protocols, food/allergy safety and computerized checkin. 3. Input new guest names into the check-in system and provide another touch point of hospitality 4. Enforce kid zone boundaries by supervising handoff to kids area and preventing circumventing of checkin/checkout process.

Kids Coordinator (leader) - A manager of volunteers and kids curriculum is the foundation of this role. The kids coordinator prepares the kids curriculum, recruits and assigns the teachers and helpers, maintains ultimate responsibility for child safety and well being and assists where needed to cover any gaps in the supervision and teaching of children.

Kids Helper (no teaching) - A love for children and the ability to multi-task is all that is needed for this role. The kids helper is
responsible for interacting and engaging the kids and assisting the teacher and coordinator wherever they are assigned. Duties can include organizing games, free play, modeling activities, supervising restroom visits and changing diapers.

Kids Teacher (no prep) - A love for kids and a desire to teach them about Jesus makes this role unique. The kids teacher will receive a fully prepared and supplied lesson and be responsible to teach kids using verbal messages, video messages, crafts, games and song (all provided) The teacher role will not require preparation, but advanced notice will be provided with an overview and topic of teaching provided.



Onstage: Upfront and in the lights



Announcements (on stage) - Quirky, zany delivery of upcoming events in front of the congregation makes this job a fun and special role. Each week there is 2-4 announcements of information about upcoming events or news items within the church that need to be conveyed to the congregation during the worship service These items will be provided in script form to the announcer and should be practiced to improve delivery

Scripture Reader & Prayer - An ability to read and pray is all that is required for this role. The scripture reader will be provided the scripture for the day and will read this for the congregation and pray
before the pastoral message. This role allows all congregants to understand and appreciate the scriptural basis for the message as well as providing an interaction point for those who would like to participate in the service. The prayer should provide some insight into the passage and the upcoming message and provide enough time for the pastor to get in place and settled before speaking.


Hospitality: Food & drink



Liquid refreshments (setup/teardown) - A love for fine coffee and tea will help with this role. The liquid refreshments role requires the unpacking and setup of the coffee brewer and hot water boiler, associated airpots as well as water jugs, cups, lids, and drink condiments. After brewing coffee and preparing hot & cold water, the liquid refreshments role must maintain the appearance and levels of refreshments available prior to and after service. After service, the role requires cleaning and repacking the liquid refreshments equipment for stowage and transport.

Solid refreshments (setup/teardown) - A love for fine foods and snacks will help with this role. The solid refreshments role requires the unpacking and setup of the provided nourishment items as well associated serving platters, utensils and condiments. After preparing the nourishment the solid refreshments role must maintain the appearance and levels of refreshments available prior to and after service. After service, the role requires cleaning and repacking the solid refreshments equipment for stowage and transport.

Nourishment provider - A love for preparing fine foods including baking and cooking make this role crucial to Sola Church. The nourishment provided is responsible for transporting and delivering solid nourishment to the refreshments crew for presentation and service. No requirements are present for this role before, during and after service aside from handoff and coordination.
